I started running and fundraising for Sloan Kettering when my father became a 6 time survivor...

I was 15 years old during my father's first bout with cancer. It wasn't easy contemplating the worst possible outcome at such a young age. The second time was rough as well, putting me to the test, during my first year of college.

We don't all get to know when, and where, or who, cancer will hit. Worst of all, we don't and won't get to know which time it will finally take the ones we love. I've prepared to lose my favorite, and most important person in my life, many times over at this point. A few years ago, as my father survived his 6th (yes 6th, not a typo), fight with cancer, I decided I want to do my part to contribute to this community. I wanted to find a way to make a positive difference in the community that has given me so many more years with my father, then I would have received without them. I decided I would "do a hard thing" every year, running the new york city marathon, while fundraising for Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. I'm on Fred's Team to fundraise for a community and cause I support with all of my heart. For my father. He's pretty much the best guy I've ever known. Without the invaluable advancements in cures and treatments of cancer that Sloan Kettering Cancer Center has provided throughout history, it's very unlikely my father would still be alive with me today.
